Annapolis Boat Show Dealt With Flood Waters

Tropical Storm Melissa Brought High Water

This past week the Atlantic Coast dealt with tidal and coastal flooding due to tropical storm Melissa in the Atlantic Ocean. Although Melissa did not reach hurricane status or make landfall; effects from the storm still created problems.

Flood Waters Effect on Boat Show

The United States Sailboat Show, is the nation’s oldest and largest in-water sailboat show. Attracting tens of thousands of boating enthusiasts from around the world, this event is one of the largest happenings in Annapolis. This year’s participants trudged through at least knee high waters. Vendor booths saw water to the tops of their tables.

Despite the flooding, a rainbow appeared, and the show still continued.
